Dr Li Wenjuan joined us as Assistant Professor at MIT in January 2024

Li Wenjuan obtained her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong in 2019. She received both Research Tuition Scholarships and Outstanding Academic Performance Award during her doctorate studies. She also had an exchange study at Technical University of Denmark. Prior to joining EdUHK, she worked as a Research Assistant Professor and as a Post-doctoral Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr Li's primary research interests include network management and security, intrusion detection, spam detection, trust management, web technology, blockchain, and IoT/AI security. Dr Li received the Best Student Paper Award at SpaCCS 2020, SciSec 2023 and Best Paper Award at AIBlock 2019, EISA@SpaCCS 2020, IEEE DSC 2021, ICA3PP 2022, and ProvSec 2022. She is one of top 2% the most-cited scientists (single-year) in the world on Stanford University List in 2022.

Ms Elly Heung Yuk-mui joined us as Lecturer II at MIT in January 2024

Ms Elly Heung Yuk-mui holds a Master of Science in Information Technology in Education from the University of Hong Kong, a distinction accompanied by Dean's Honours List awards. Prior to her current role, she served as an instructional designer at the Faculty of Education and Human Development for more than two years, a tenure recognised with a Smart Work Practice Award. Ms Heung's professional focus is on the integration of educational technology, the development of e-learning resources, and the facilitation of blended learning to cultivate an engaging learning environment.

Dr Ning Luo joined us as a Research Assistant Professor at CCA in January 2024

Dr Ning Luo is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Cultural and Creative Art, EDUHK. She holds a BA in Art from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, a Master of Arts Education from South China Normal University, and an EdD from the Education University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include Community-based Arts Education and cultural responsiveness, arts teacher education and teacher-artist identities, gender, creative identities, and school arts education. Her publication featured in various journals, such as Identity: An International Journal of Theory and Research, International Journal of Art & Design Education, International Journal of Music Education, and other handbooks and edited books. Dr Luo teaches Research Methodology, History of Art Education, and Curriculum Assessment and Evaluation. Additionally, she has participated in community service and taught art to migrant children, rural left-behind children, and ethnic minority children.

Dr Nicole Yang Yin joined us as Lecturer II at MIT in December 2023

Dr Yang obtained her PhD from The Education University of Hong Kong in 2023 and master’s degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2018. She was a post-doctoral fellow in the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Competency Education Centre, EdUHK. Her research interests include technology-enhanced language learning, innovative pedagogical designs, self-regulated learning analytics, innovative pedagogical designs, and AI literacy. Dr Yang has published several papers in SSCI-indexed journals and has been actively engaged in international conferences. She was awarded the Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student Award (OPSA) in the 2022/23 academic year. Additionally, she received the Best Teacher Forum Paper Award at GCCCE 2019, Best Oral Presentation Awards at PPTELL in 2021 and 2022, and Best Paper Presentation Awards at ICFULL in 2022 and 2023.

Dr Izzy Jian Yi joined us as Assistant Professor at SSPS in December 2023

Dr Izzy Jian Yi came from an architecture background and earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Building and Real Estate, and Research Institute of Sustainable Urban Development (RISUD), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU) in 2021. She’s the director of Happy Ageing Lab Foundation.

Before joining EdUHK, she worked as PTVL in School of Design, HK PolyU (2023), Postdoctoral Fellow at Happy Ageing Lab, School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2023), Postdoctoral Fellow at Public Design Lab, School of Design, HK PolyU (2021-2023), and Ernst Mach Research Fellow at the Department of Geography and Regional Research, the University of Vienna (2021).

Her research and teaching interests include spatial justice, privatisation/ liminality of public open space, inclusive/ age-friendly design, community engagement, and Geomedia.

Dr Kristy Yip So-king joined us as Senior Lecturer II at SSPS in December 2023

With over 14 years of teaching experience in tertiary institutions and secondary schools in Hong Kong, she is an enthusiastic facilitator who joined the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies at EdUHK in December 2023. She is interested in teaching curriculum and pedagogies and staying up-to-date on trends and developments in general studies, sustainable tourism, and business studies.

She possesses a doctoral degree in hotel and tourism management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her doctoral thesis focuses on exploring and implementing hybrid pedagogies in education. Additionally, she has a master's degree with a dual focus on curriculum and innovative teaching, as well as professional and vocational education. Furthermore, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a specialisation in Business Studies from EdUHK.

Mr Kenneth Ho Yik-kiu joined us as Senior Lecturer II at HPE in September 2023

Mr Kenneth Ho Yik-kiu has joined the Department of Health and Physical Education as Senior Lecturer II. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education from The Education University of Hong Kong and a Master of Arts degree in School Improvement and Leadership from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Since 2012, Mr Ho has become a core member of the Fundamental Movement Learning Community (FMLC) of the Education Bureau to support local schools' learning and teaching of fundamental movement at Key Stage 1. He is dedicated to contributing his knowledge and experience in nurturing the new generation of prospective teachers.

Mr Ho received three Chief Executive's Awards for Teaching Excellence in 2014, 2017, and 2022 respectively. He also represented Hong Kong as one of the four representatives in the First National Training Program for Pioneer Educators organised by the Chinese government from 2018 to 2021.
